Put Some Spring In Your Skirt

Once again I fell in love with a piece of clothing that is wayyy out of my price range.

Skirt on the left, staring at you, looking all gorgeous... (Or, is that just me?)
Thanks, Dolce and Gabbana for the heartache..

...Anyway...
It was a a good thing because it inspired me to create my second 'Today vs. One Day' post.
I found this lovely version from H&M that you see there on the right and immediately took a sigh of relief.
- $25, I can do that
- $426 on the other hand- that may take a while.
So, I figured I should add some extra 'Today vs. One Day' pieces and voila'

Inspired By: Autumn Fever

Dressing for autumn is fun.
Especially in LA!
One day its warm - the next it's chilly- then the following day the temperature is a bipolar mess.

This outfit is for that day-
When you're dressing for the sun but staying on the safe side with a scarf (and maybe a sweater in the backseat of your car.)

Fellow warm weather inhabitants,

why not spend today rocking an autumn inspired outfit?

Here is my take on the look:

The Floral Bomber

H&M Jacket : Similar here, here, and here

I was first inspired to find a floral bomber jacket when I saw this look on Alexandra of Lovely Peppa.

So, when I saw this jacket in H &M the other day, I had to have it.

Here are some other floral bombers I am loving right now:

Long Black Dress

Comfy. Simple. Stylish

Done. Done. Done

This LBD (Long Black Dress) is the ticket for the days you want to look put together, but have no brain power to think up a stylish outfit.

The simple addition of
-a clutch
OR
(in my case)

can instantly turn this blank canvas into a
MASTERPIECE!

OK,  maybe not a masterpiece, but you get the idea...

Try it out!

Outfit Details

2. Urban Outfitters Grey Peplum Tee
3. Dannijo Necklace - (Similar here and here)
4. Asos Heels
5. Current Elliot Jeans - (Similar here)

I had been toying with the idea of jumping on to the camouflage train for a while now, but until recently I had not found the right pair...
In the past, the fit was wrong, the print the tacky, the colors were off-
everything and more kept me at bay..
Up until a couple days ago when I happened upon the perfect pair!

And if you have lost me here- Yes, I am still only talking about camouflage printed denim.

So, long story short this Outfit Details post was definitely
inspired by a day of shopping..

Forgive me for the Iphone quality photo!

Men's Tie Silk

Yes, your bow tie matches my skirt.
Which, in a way could totally be a new take on the menswear trend for women!
... maybe

Either way - It's definitely an unconventional material for women to wear which makes me love
it even more! I paired it with my cropped cable knit sweater, some distressed ankle boots, and my flea- market-find sunglasses to wear on a day of errands.

Burgundy Love

(Jean Jacket from H + M - Similar here and here, White Tank from Urban Oufitters, Skirt from Asos, Purse from Urban Outfitters - Similar here and here, Sneakers from Jack Purcell

Burgundy, Oxblood, Dark Red...

The name of this color may change with the trends but the beauty of it definitely does not.
I wore this outfit last Saturday and spent the day exploring museums and grabbing some lunch on Fairfax. It was comfortable (thanks Jack Purcells) while still being fashion forward. The hi/low skirt trend has definitely been "on" for a while, but this take from Asos mixes it up by being based on the form of a pencil skirt, instead of a flowy maxi skirt.
Also, if you know me, you know I have major love for my jean jacket- I wear it multiple times a week, so it's always a good topper to any outfit in my eyes!
One last special addition to this outfit was my new bracelet from my best friend Dorit. She gave it to me for my birthday when she visited a couple weeks ago and it has become a new wrist "staple" next to my other bracelets and watches.

Enjoy!
